Shul

Spiritgrow’s shule (‘Spiritshul’) is known for its informality, friendliness, and loyalty to Jewish spiritual teachings. It is led by its youthful Rabbi and Director, Menachem Wolf, who epitomises warmth, wisdom, and genuine love for everyone.  Services are punctuated by meditation, running commentary, humour, and niggun, attracting Jews from all over town. Both men, women and children participate, and the Spiritshul Kiddush is a magnet, not least through its epic cholent.

A Friday night candle-lit service is a total immersion experience taking one back to the Altneushul of the Maharal of Prague. A band often provides a musical ‘jump-start’ to Erev Shabbat davening, raising spirits and often resulting in circle dancing. ‘Spiritshul’ is not just a spiritual shul – it is an experience.

Community

Spiritgrow is a unique community by any standards. Its eclectic and altruistic enthusiastic membership has created a centre characterised by spiritual endeavour, natural curiosity, and non-judgmental posture. Spiritgrow is described as avant-garde by some and innovative by others. Most of all, it is Melbourne’s most informal and friendliest community.

You will find opportunities to explore Jewish Meditation and Relaxation, exploration of Tradition Texts, Kabbala, Health and Wellness, Personal Management, Strengthening Relationships, and more. Spiritgrow lives up to its name as a holistic Jewish community, and more.

Weddings

Your wedding is your and your fiancé’s magical day. Its significance is reflected in Judaism’s labyrinth of marriage rituals. Rabbi Menachem Wolf helps couples seamlessly navigate these rituals and appreciate their meditational significance.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Tailored and experiential learning program for soon to be Bar and Bat Mitzvah youth

Bar and Bat Mitzvah’s are a period of transition, where children take their first definitive steps toward the autonomy of adulthood. They begin to explore themselves and their world through a new set of lenses that are gifted to them at this point of their lives. But this period comes with its challenges. Supportive guidance is key.
