May 28 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm AESTFree
On the Shabbat before the new moon, we bless the month ahead. The waining moon giving birth to a new moon is a powerful metaphor in Judaism. We too need to retire aspects of ourselves and refresh ourselves for the period ahead. Chassidic culture introduced the monthly fabrengen as a component of this retirement and renewal.
Each month after the Shabbat morning davening, we come together for a sit down kiddush lunch and have conversations facilitated by guest personalities. At the fabrengen, people are free to share their thoughts and ideas, connect with one another and gain strength and inspiration form the dialogue, singing and food.
