Shavuot is one of the four days a year that we recite the Yizkor memorial prayers for loved ones. We invite anyone who wishes to participate to join us for Yizkor and should you wish to make a Tzedakah contribution for the elevation of the soul/s of loved ones please consider doing so via our donation page.
The act of giving charity creates new kindness in this world and leads to positive outcomes. By attaching this deed to the memory of a loved one, their soul inherits the merit of the giving and the good deed, forming ‘wings’ that help the soul ascend in the Garden of Eden.
Yizkor date: Saturday 27th May not before 11:30am
Yizkor can mean ‘remember’ and it can also mean ‘mention’. When we recite the Yizkor prayer we not only remember loved ones but bring them into the present by mentioning them.
There are a number of variations for the Yizkor memorial prayers, at Spiritgrow we encourage people to use the text found in the Artscroll Prayer Book because of it accessible language (Below)
