Spiritshul
Transcending the Ordinary – Where Meditation and Prayer Meet
Spiritshul is not your regular synagogue. With running commentary, meditation, niggunim, user-friendly transliterated prayer book and stand-up comedy, Spiritshul is an experience, not a chore. Led by our youthful and dynamic Rabbi Menachem Wolf, Spiritshul makes each person feel very special. We don’t pass judgment on your degree of Jewish belief and practice – we seek joy of the soul.
The Aron HaKodesh (Ark) is a world first – a fully transparent steel and Perspex structure that allows the Torah to be on constant. The powerful entry to the Ark is through hand-selected ancient oriental timber doors with brass fittings. The quarter circle quadrant seating arrangement fringed by small tables with Jewish magazines and books creates a friendly environment that allows those who have difficulty following or participating in a service to enjoy the setting and spirit of the occasion.
Kiddushim are characterized by ‘tortias and tequila’ in the summer, Rabbi Menachem’s pulp free chicken soup in winter, and an array of vegetarian and meat spicy cholents during the day throughout the year.
Spiritshul excursions and dinners occur regularly throughout the year and allows members to develop friendships and a sense of close-knit community.
